Why is the top and bottom of the video cut off?

Solution

Applies to:

Personal Trainer Studio (PTS) video lessons containing AutoCAD or Civil 3D videos.

Issue:

When watching a video, the top and bottom of the video is cut off.

Cause:

Video lessons for AutoCAD and Civil 3D are recorded at a large size in order to include the many toolbars, ribbons, and tool palettes that are present in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.  In order to view these videos, your computer resolution must be set to 1280 x 960 or higher (as indicated in the Readme file).

Solution:

Change your video resolution to at least 1280 x 960.

Window 7 and Vista

    1. Right-click the desktop, then select "Screen Resolution".
    2. Change the resolution to 1280 x 960 or higher.
    3. Click OK.

Windows XP and below

    1. Right-click the desktop, then select "Properties".
    2. In the Properties dialog, click the "Settings" tab.
    3. Change the resolution to 1280x960 or higher.
    4. Click OK

Notes

  • If your computer hardware does not support 1280x960 resolution (or higher), you will need to upgrade your hardware or install the lessons on a different computer that supports this resolution.
